Deepen your knowledge of the new trading and investment psychology in the 21st century and stay ahead in challenging times. We are in a major transition from one cycle to another which will last for a number of years. This transition which began in 2007 reflects a global, collective shift that permeates everything and will affect everyone.
The Buddhist Trader introduces you to the new trading and investment paradigm. This essential knowledge will help you to become a more profitable trader and investor and make money in all market environments. If you understand how crowd psychology reflecfts market action and clear your own subconscious confusion, fears and anxieties you will be able to take your trading and investing to new levels of mastery.
Trading and investment strategies are changing fast in line with the global paradigm shift that is affecting every facet of our existence. You have to re-think old strategies in order to stay ahead of the game. Fortunes are being lost by those who do not adapt and fortunes are made by those who understand crowd psychology and go with the change in these volatile and unpredictable markets.
Today's psychology is not the same psycholgy of 10 years ago, let alone of 50 years ago. Understanding the deep rooted psychological paradigm shifts that are taking place in a global market place and how they are affecting the collective consciousness will help you to make better trading decisions.
Problems with trading are usually caused by problems within yourself and this affects how you interact with the markets. Major transition periods often reflect suppressed, unresolved issues in your own psychology. This is the nature of the universal law of oneness. Everyone is affected by this, but some of us can deal with change better than others.
Your personality is your biggest asset and also your biggest enemy.
I know only too well from personal experience, that learning to trade to suit your own personality is a challenge. Getting to know the real you underneath the masque of conditioning is a major job. It is essential to get to the core of the real you and be at peace with yourself or you will be trading your unresolved issues .
Unless you know your TRUE PERSONALITY you will always be struggling in your trading and investing because you are working against yourself subconsciously instead of being in one with the markets.
Most of us have developed complex coping mechanisms we have employed all through our lives to suppress our inner demons. This is considered good discipline but unfortunately does not help you with your trading. When you bring the many subconscious programmes which are dictating your actions to your conscious awareness you will have a valuable edge.
Once you are in harmony with all parts of yourself you will reap immense rewards. For one, you will be much happier. The trading discipline which was a struggle, becomes a natural by product of your trading that you will enjoy as part of what you have to do to be successful. Helping you to achieve this enviable level of mastery in your trading is the main objective of The Buddhist Trader. Getting to know yourself intimately paves the way to trading mastery.
Knowing your true self means understanding your cognitive development level
This invaluable piece of information can save you a lot of time, frustration and many wrong starts in your trading career. Because it is your developmental level that dictates how you see your world and interact with others, including the markets. We are always changing and growing. Your development is never static but an ongoing process.
This important information. which will answer many of your trading problems, is not mentioned in any trading psychology books. When you know where you are in your cognitive development, or whether you are going through a transitional period in your development, you will gain essential clues that you can use to adjust your trading style accordingly.
Take a good look at your trading environment
Your environment plays a much bigger role in your success than you might imagine. I learned this, like all the other things I am talking about in The Buddhist Trader, through trial and error. Electro magnetic field radiation from computer screens decreases air quality and geopathic stress in your environment can hamper trading. These issues concern every trader who spends more than two hours each day in front of a computer.
I have had an eye problem from birth which made it hard to concentrate on the screen for long periods. The more I forced myself to focus the more frustrated I got. In the end I felt tired, depressed, took trades for the wrong reasons and was close to a mental break down.
Once I had neutralised EMR emissions and geopathic stress the difference on my performance and general mind set was amazing. I did not feel depressed and over tired any more. I had more energy and focused much better and my trading improved as a result. You will learn about electro magnetic radiation and geopathic stress and how to neutralise it in The Buddhist Trader.
I have worked with professional traders
and know from my own experience how the stiff upper lip syndrome we tend to display and are so proud of, oppresses our shadows and can hamper profitability.
Suppressed fear, (and I could fill an entire book about this subject alone), is a devil lurking in the cesspit of many a trading mind. You get out of positions too early, procrastinate, act on impulse and fear of missing out.
There is a constant battle going on inside. On the one hand you see clearly what you should be trading, and then the doubts creep in, maybe your analysis is wrong, maybe you are missing out on something. The market moves in your direction and you hop on board, mimicking false confidence while fearful of missing out on the move...
I too have done all those things until I managed to clear the rubbish that was going on in my mind and found a way that worked for me. I share these shadow clearing techniques with you in The Buddhist Trader.
Beware of the trap so many traders and investors fall into. They trade other peoples' systems and their promises and beliefs. Unfortunately, there are not that many good traders or investors out there. Trading is similar to other professions, it gets pretty empty in the top ranks, but with one difference. In most other professions you can make mistakes, in fact, you can make many mistakes and be very mediocre and still get by. In the world of trading the story is very different.
Trading shows up all your weaknesses in a very short time, often within a few weeks
This is hard to take for many a new, hopeful trader as they have to face all their shortcomings at once. It was a shock for me too. For many, this is initial shock is simply too much to handle and the temptation to act irrationally is very high at this point.
Particularly, when you are trading with limited funds in today's volatile market environment and are looking for high returns within a very short period of time, you will be in for a shock. When you are new to trading, you need to learn from someone you can trust and you have to learn fast. Otherwise, the psychological and material damage will compound and you may never fulfill your dream.
If you are new to trading to start learning about the psychology of trading first
Learn about yourself before you learn trading systems. This may not be the sexy thing you want to hear, but believe me, it will pay dividends and will also bring you secondary benefits you can't yet imagine. Your entire life will improve when you understand yourself and become fully aware of how you and the world of trading operate.
If I had known 10 years ago what I know about myself now, my trading would have taken on a very different shape, right from the day I put on my first trade. If you are new to trading and are reading this, please follow this advice and learn about your own psychology first. You will be grateful for it, because in the long run it will save your precious self esteem, and valuable time and a ton of money too.
